About Gravity Sourdough Pizza Co.
Our Story
Gravity Pizza was founded in the Fall of 2023 by partners Alex Osterhoudt and Amanda Wagner.
Alex and Amanda met in 2011 and shared a pizza on their first date at a drive-in movie theater.
The duo launched their first company - Aurora Star Lit Cinema in the Summer of 2022, hosting about 150 outdoor movie events a year around the Charlotte area.
Pizza making was a hobby they both enjoyed for many years, which took on a new life as they began to experiment with sourdough during the pandemic.
After years of experimentation, they perfected their dough recipe and decided it was time to share it with the world!
After operating out of a vintage mid-century travel trailer for the past year, Gravity's first brick-and-mortar location has officially opened at the heart of Camp North End

Our Ingredients
Gravity Pizza all starts with sourdough crafted from our starter (which has origins dating back to the late 19th century) and the finest flour. Our dough is cold-fermented for 48 hours to develop the perfect texture and sourdough flavor.
We then top our pizzas with our house-made sauces/spreads and high-quality local (whenever possible) and sustainably-sourced ingredients.
We finish off our pies in our oven at 850ºF. Our dough comes out light and pillowy, with the perfect crunch and a nice amount of chew. The sourdough flavor is present but not overpowering making it perfect for pizza lovers of all kinds!
